BearClaw 154 came about from the UBC Minimalist Footwear Study manager when I told her I felt like I was watching some animal running through the forest--hence the BearClaw--and the 154 came from my study participant number.
This is BearClaw 154
There is not much to these shoes. In fact the study is called the UBC Minimalist Footwear Study. It would appear that I have been randomly chosen to be the 'minimalist' in the Minimalist Footwear Study. I could have been chosen for the Nike Free (middle support), or the Nike Pegasus (full support--my last pair of runners), but I was chosen for the minimal of minimal: the Vibram FiveFingers running shoe.
How the hell am I supposed to wear these in public?
I hope to entertain myself with this blog. Not anyone else. It will be like having a great sense of humour ...but the audience just doesn't understand you.
Sigh!
